Forum rules
This is a forum for those interested in making creative visual supports for children with ASD. Members will probably be a mixture of professionals and carers. Please respect each other's views, maintain confidentiality and watch your language. Professionals are reminded to respect the confidentiality of the people they support and not to post any client/patient/pupil identifiable information. Carers are free to talk about their own children (foster carers may need to consult the person with parental responsibility), but not those of other people. We are fully aware that caring for an individual with ASD can sometimes be a difficult and challenging experience, however please consider the impact of your posts on other people before hitting that button. Oh and no spam!

Autistic Triad

Postby Kirk Anderson » Mon 17 Jun, 2013 10:20 pm

I met today with the eRotarians to discuss an Autism Explained morning in November and next year's Autism Awareness Workshop. While thinking what to call the events, I commented that it's a shame that, while we've moved away from Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), we still refer to the Triad of Impairments. Not long after I said this, I got a message on Facebook from Virginie to say she'd finished translating my Autism for Children web page into French. When I got home, I read the translation and I noticed that the French for The Triad of Impairments is la triade autistique. The Autistic Triad. Job done!
